Candidates interested in
a career as a Yamaha Music School teacher must pass the screening process and
meet the current staffing needs of the school.
Potential candidates will be invited for an audition/interview where
they will be required to sing and play.
The next step involves the teacher candidates successfully completing
the Teacher Candidate Evaluation (TCE)
- which consists of performance and written tests. Successful candidates will be invited to
attend training at Yamaha Seminar A.
This seminar is held semi-annually in Toronto. In addition to classroom activities, teachers will be involved in
many activities and performance opportunities with their students such as
concerts, festivals and exams.

in pitch while playing

dynamic classroom manner

fundamentals (sense of pitch, rhythm, harmony)

musical creativity (improvisation, composition)
