Digital ToP-ART:
Audio-Grade Parts and Devices Used Throughout

Yamaha’s Digital ToP-ART concept combines the latest and best technologies, parts and circuit designs to maximise sound quality. These include a 18,000μF custom-made block capacitors (1), high grade Burr-Brown DACs and ADC (2), Schottky barrier diode for high S/N (3) and other high quality audio-grade parts (4). The RXV3900 also has all channel discrete amplifier configuration. High Current Amplification circuitry achieves high current power with low impedance for superior amplifier performance.
Pure Direct for Highest Sound Quality Pure Direct is a special mode that causes the signal to bypass all but the most basic audio circuitry, and even turns off the display to prevent any chance of noise interference. It provides the purest possible high-fidelity sound for your music sources.
    High Picture Quality

Full HD 1080p Video Upscaling

The RXV3900 has not only analogue video to HDMI digital video upconversion (i.e., composite video <-> S-Video <-> component video -> HDMI) capability for monitor out, but also analogue video upscaling from 480i or 480p to 1080i, 720p or even 1080p.

HDMI Video Upscaling (both analogue and digital inputs)

1080p-Compatible HDMI
(4 In/2 Out)
The HDMI interface upgrades the transmission of standard, enhanced and high-definition signals via a single HDMI cable, providing extremely high video quality. Four HDMI inputs allow users to connect four high-definition sources such as Blu-ray Discs or HDDVD players and switch between them. The RXV3900 also provides the benefits of Deep Colour (30/36bit), the x.v.Colour standard, automatic audio and video synchronisation (Lip-Sync) capability and 1080p/24Hz support.

Fine-Tuned CINEMA DSP 3D and Adaptive DSP Level

Yamaha’s much-praised CINEMA DSP programmes have been fine-tuned for even better sound with the latest generation CINEMA DSP technology. As a result, the source and the sound field are in closer harmony, providing a delightful new CINEMA DSP experience.

When volume is low, CINEMA DSP effects may be difficult to hear. Adaptive DSP Level overcomes this problem by evaluating the difference between the volume level and a reference level, and adjusting the DSP level to ensure optimum effectiveness, that is, the best possible sound.

Advanced video processing with Anchor Bay’s Newest Scaling chip the ABT2010 with VRS Technology The ABT2010 is a second generation video processing chip suited for de-interlacing and format conversion applications in digital displays, DVD, Blu-Ray and AV receivers.  10-bit Precision Video Scaling can independently scale an image horizontally and vertically to achieve outstanding picture quality for today’s high-definition video displays.  Progressive Re-Processing (PReP tm)  technology is a breakthrough processing method that reverts progressive video signals from source equipment to its original interlaced format, and then converts the interlaced signal to progressive format. The ABT2010 supports HDMI 1.3 with 12-bit output resolutions.
