YPAO uses the supplied microphone and the on-board 7-band parametric equalizer to automatically calibrate the HTR5890 for the acoustics of the room and all of the speakers being used.
THX Select is more suited to the size and listening distances of most living rooms. It accurately reflects the demands of modern program material, based on a fresh examination of the requirements of multichannel digital audio.
Yamaha's design philosophy to maximize digital quality while minimizing analog circuitry.
The HTR5890s remote control can learn the functions of other components, so it can be used to control the entire home theatre system. For ease of use, the units LCD window displays the active input name.
Display operational information on a video monitor.
A wide bandwidth for video is essential to assure uncompromised video reproduction. The HTR5790's 60 Mhz video bandwidth meets the requirements of HDTV.
Precise volume adjustment and matching is made possible via Yamaha's digitally regulated volume control. Adjustments can be made by turning the knob on the receiver or through the remote control.
Up to 40 Preset AM and FM stations can be programmed (8 stations x 5 groups). These groupings make it easy for family members to access their favourite stations or to have musical genres, such as all jazz stations, grouped together.
Enjoy the warmth of your original vinyl recordings directly from the turntable.
Provides a realistic multi-channel surround experience using only two or three (with the inclusion of a centre channel) speakers.
Yamaha has added HRTF and "Virtual" technology to create a realistic surround movie effect using standard, two-channel headphones.
In addition to 6-channel DVD-Audio and SACD support, the HTR5890's input jacks will accommodate an 8-channel decoder for compatibility with future multi-channel formats.
For convenience and versatility, the receiver can switch back and forth between two sets of speakers at the touch of a button.
Enjoy explosions, music and sound effects without disturbing others. In this mode, sound effects will not overpower dialogue with sudden increases in volume levels.
Yamaha's heavy-duty binding post speaker terminals accept a wide variety of connections, including banana plugs, spade connectors, and heavy-gauge cable.
Use Zone 2 (powered) or Zone 3 (line out) connectors to enjoy sound in additional rooms.
